  • Comments about cultural aspects of the people and places you visited

My favorite day in the Europe trip was the first day when we arrived. This day was the September 7th, because this day was the day were we started our journey in this continent. We were very tired for the flight because it was too long...so we arrived to the hotel to rest. We arrived like at 6 o`clock, so the day for the citizens was finishing. I was very excited for being in a place so different to my home that I didn`t want to rest too much, asking for permission to go to walk to the amazing city of Edinburgh. When my permission was accepted, me and other students start walking around the place, arriving to a bridge were was the separation between the old town and the new town. That day we didn`t do any activity for part of the school, but again, we ask for permission to go out at night, going to a party.

It was easy to see that was a big and beautiful city with too many important monuments in it, and that at night the city transforms in a city with to much energy ready for people to party and have a great time. In fact, there were many beautiful buildings that were constructed with the origins of this city, making it more special.

I think that my country is very different to this city beacuse of the time when the people start living in it. What I mean with this is that

London, a different city

Details of the city of it`s own citizens

By Gregorio Salaberry C.                                                                           November 14th, 2014

London is a city with a big diversity of buildings. What I want to say with this is that London has a very long story over the years, creating different things depending on the necessities that they had had over the time. Some special buildings or constructions are the Big Ben, the London Eye, the Natural Museum, the Windsor Palace, and other constructions that call our tourist side.
However, I think that this city is innovated by the technology, using it to be better and grow like a big nation, because if London grows, all England has the opportunity to grow also, for the only reason that London is its capital.

In fact, I had a conversation with Juan Perez, a famous Briton, were we talked about London and saying what he likes most about London. In this conversation he said that for him everything was special in this city. He grew up here learning some things that tourists can't see. For him this place is like a coin, it has two faces. One of the faces is the one that every tourist sees. But there is other places where everything is different, where only citizens are accepted. A calm place without interruptions, where you can think for a moment. Of course he couldn't tell me where it is or the name of the place because it is a secret, but he told me that was awesome.

Also he told that on hot days, if you don`t have any pool, the best thing to do is to walk by the side of the Tamesis River. This is because you can catch a fresh breeze and have a great time doing it, and the best time to do it is at the afternoon because you can walk under the shadow making it more refreshing.

At the end of our conversation, we finish talking about the differences between the day in London and the night in this city. After too many arguments, we came to the conclusion that is just different. For the day you can make some activities that in the night you can`t. In the day you can do all the part of knowing the city, and the important monuments in it; and in night you can know the best discotheques and bars in the city. To say which one is the best only depends on the preferences of the person.
